National Charities
As Canada’s longest standing cancer charity, we have been making a difference in the lives of Canadians since 1938. The Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
We are working hard to:
- Save lives. Our researchers continue to discover new information that is transforming diagnosis and treatment.
- Stop cancer before it starts. Our researchers are finding ways to prevent cancer while we promote healthy lifestyles and advocate for policies that protect the public.
- Ensure no one facing cancer is alone by offering services and support to those living with cancer.
- Empower Canadians with information on cancer to help them make informed choices about their health.
When you donate your vehicle to the benefit of one of the participating charities below, you will receive a charitable tax receipt.¹
Promoting Health

For more than a century, the Ontario Lung Association worked tirelessly to be the recognized leader, voice and primary resource in lung health. Meanwhile, lung disease continued to place a profound burden on patients and their families, and placed a large – and growing – economic burden on every provincial healthcare system across Canada.
Given the staggering gaps we had uncovered in the prevention, diagnosis, and care of lung disease, it became clear that it was time to bring the staff and board of the association together to make some big, bold changes to our approach.
In 2020 and beyond, we are charting a new path forward. We are empowering all Canadians to improve their lung health.
We are the Lung Health Foundation. And lung health starts now!
The Canadian Red Cross’ mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and around the world.

Protecting the Environment
GCC has been leading a community-based climate action movement for more than 25 years, working together with our members from across the country to advance transformative, equitable, and lasting change.
As a membership-based organization, our mission is to connect community-based climate action groups through a national network to share resources, co-design innovative programming, and elevate the collective impact of GCC members.
GCC’s programs focus on climate mitigation and adaptation: advancing energy efficiency and the transition to low carbon technology in Canadian homes; supporting active transportation and the electrification of buses; and, leading the implementation of community-based green infrastructure solutions.
Evergreen is a national environmental charity that engages and empowers Canadians to create and restore outdoor green spaces in schools, communities and homes.
Inspiring Communities
For 40 years, Make-A-Wish ®Canada has given sick children and their families the strength they need to fight critical illness by granting them a wish. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because a wish is crucial to improving a child’s health outcome. Childhood critical illness can take so much from a family. All the hope, joy and wonder of childhood is replaced by fear, anxiety, and loneliness. Wishes provide relief and hope, helping the family focus on something other than pain, fear, and uncertainty. Your gift can transform lives for children and families who are facing the devastation of critical illness.
The Shine Foundation changes the lives of children and youth living with severe physical disabilities, across Canada.
Our Shine program focuses on the unique needs and aspirations of each young person we serve. These personalized experiences are customized by the child or youth and brought to life by Shine’s dedicated program team. From meeting a hero, to adapted sports equipment, we encourage them to shine bright!
Shine experiences help children and youth living with severe physical disabilities imagine new possibilities, inspire them to reach their future goals, and develop a sense of purpose that can last a lifetime. In fact, after Shine, many are inspired to turn their experience into potential careers or advancing their education. We strive to help young people discover a world where possibilities shine brighter.
Since its inception in 1987, Shine has fulfilled more than 8,800 experiences for children and youth across Canada and coordinated 64 Shine DreamLifts.

34% less likely to allow themselves to be victimized or bullied by peers
